Youth Development: Lahor conglomerate CEO Agbonlahor hails Okpebholo, Tinubu’s initiatives

Prince Paul O. Agbonlahor, Chairman and CEO of Lahor Group, has praised Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for rolling out what he described as transformative governance initiatives that are reshaping infrastructure and creating fresh opportunities for Nigeria’s youth.

Agbonlahor, a respected business mogul and philanthropist in media chat on Sunday noted that while International Youth Day 2025 underscores the importance of youth in advancing global cooperation, the real story in Nigeria is how bold infrastructural and policy interventions are directly enabling young people to thrive.

He highlighted Governor Okpebholo’s SHINE Agenda—with landmark projects such as the Ramat Park–Auchi–Agbor–Ikpoba-Hill flyover, state intervention on the Benin–Auchi Federal Highway, and new security-linked roadworks in Edo North—as proof of how governance can spur both safety and economic growth.

“These interventions are not just concrete and asphalt projects,” Agbonlahor said. “They are foundations for commerce, security, and the empowerment of our young people.”

On youth-focused policies, Agbonlahor pointed to Edo’s ₦1 billion bursary scheme, interest-free loans for small businesses, and massive skills training programmes as direct enablers of social mobility.

At the federal level, he praised President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, citing the plan to train three million Nigerians in IT skills, the Scale Up Artisans Project, and the establishment of the Nigeria Youth Academy.

“For the first time, young Nigerians are not just being told they are the leaders of tomorrow,” he said. “They are being equipped to lead today, backed by governance strategies that combine infrastructure with empowerment.”

Agbonlahor urged Nigerian youths to seize these opportunities:
“Government can build bridges and provide tools, but it is up to our young people to cross those bridges with courage, innovation, and vision.”
