
The Nigerian Railway Corporation, (NRC) has said passengers on board Warri-Itakpe train last week enroute Warri will get a refund of 100 percent ticket fare paid to board the train.
NRC also apologized for the delayed suffered in the process.
Director Operations, Nigerian Railway Corporation, Akin Osinowo said the train was enroute Warri from Itakpe before the glitz happened by 8.00pm hence passengers had to spend the night at Ajaokuta train station until early hours of the morning before they continued the journey.
He commended the government and officials of Kogi State for providing adequate security at site of the glitz thereby giving passengers confidence of being secured throughout the period until another locomotive engine came to convey them to their various destinations.
Deputy Director, public relations, Yakub Mahmood, in a statement issued on behalf of management apologised to passengers for the glitz on train stating that work will be done on the system to ensure such glitz does not occur.
