The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), in Edo State has arrested 15 suspects for operating a private security outfits in the state without a licence.
The state commandant of the corps, Gbenga Adigun revealed this in Benin, during an event put together to mark the New Year and his one year in office in the state.
While noting that five private guard companies were also sealed off by the corps, Adigun further said that the Private Guards Companies Department of the command trained 96 private guard personnel in the last one year.
He observed that 110 suspects were arrested for various crimes in the period under review, out of which five cases were charged to court, five judgements secured in favour of the corps and six others still pending in court.
Adigun maintained further that the anti-fraud unit of the command recovered N1,655,000 for various victims in the year 2024, among several other interventions.
