Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has tasked members of the newly inaugurated Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) to uphold the spirit of fairness and transparency in their discharge of their duties as the state approaches its local government elections.
He gave the charge during the swearing-in ceremony of the LASIEC Chairman, Justice Bola Okikiolu Ighile (Rtd).
Governor Sanwo-Olu hinted on the importance of maintaining the integrity of democracy by conducting free, fair, and credible polls.
He urged the commission to work closely with all political stakeholders, including opposition parties, to ensure a transparent electoral process.
The governor also assured LASIEC of the state government’s full support in facilitating a credible election.
