Edo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Cyril Mathew, has confirmed a fatal multiple road mishaps that claimed the lives of two persons in Benin City.
Four other persons also sustained serious, but varying degrees of injuries in the crash that occurred in the evening hours of Tuesday, in the Ikhueniro community, along the Benin-Agbor Road.
Confirming the incident in a press statement, the sector commander said that three vehicles were involved in the crash.
He attributed the cause to over speeding
Mr. Matthew explained that six people, including two male adult and four female adult, were involved in the accident.
According to him, the injured victims were rushed to a hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were deposited in a morgue.
The sector commander however admonished motorists against overspeeding and urged them to prioritise safety, obey traffic rules and regulations, avoid night journeys and drunk driving.
He also advised them to always fasten their seat belts to ensure safe travel during the yuletide season.
